Now, not many teenagers nowadays may be aware of the fact that when attending a formal, or semi formal, event, there is an unspoken dress code. Girls, semi-formal events require more clothing than the micro dresses you so love to wear. Yes, they are pretty. Yes, they are comfy. No, they are not always appropriate. Just because it's tight and sparkly doesn't make it appropriate. You should wear something that leaves a little more to the imagination. You should wear a dress that comes at least mid-thigh. Make it frilly, lacy, sparkly, or whatever, but it should not be skin tight and barely covering your bum. Just because a dress is more modest, does not make it less beautiful or you less stunning. What it does do is make you look like you actually respect yourself.
Formal events require floor length dresses, or gowns. Yes, floor length dresses, (gowns), are a little more modest than some girls nowadays might be accustom to, but if you find the right gown, I can assure you that you won't feel like a Princess. You will feel like a Queen. Gowns are my absolute favorite. Call me biased since I'm going to be a fashion major and I love to design gowns, but I don't care. Gowns are gorgeous, they are confidence in the form of clothing. The right cut, and the right color, (along with some glittering accessories), can flatter any body shape. I should know, I don't have the most amazing body ever. Take this gown for example:
This gown is not the most modest, but it is still perfectly appropriate for a formal event, like Winter Formal or Prom. When it comes to gowns and dresses, it is very hard to go wrong. Be creative, but please, wear appropriate attire. Have fun with it! You'll look stunning. Try looking at: http://www.tbdress.com or http://www.ericdress.com
